Annual baptisms declined from about 346,000 in 1970 to around 257,000 in 1990. Political freedom had been achieved, but the times were not yet ripe for the wider freedom of conscience. Emily Wright is one of the senior associate pastors at Roswell Presbyterian Church. I assume other's share this same experience.
