I've listerned to the Karajan and Dausgaard performances on disc but prefer Arrau/Szeryng/Starker, they seem to just play it as chamber music, like a piano trio, nothing is overdone. His own views of marriage and of women, shown in his romantic fantasies about Cathy, and his cold withdrawal from his flirtation with the young lady at the Spa town, reveal this genteel commentator to be just as manipulative and selfish as the apparently demonic Heathcliff.

LIKE AN ORATORIO PERFORMED DURING HOLY WEEK (Good Fri.) soloists are story characters vocal with instrumental accompaniment Bach's: St. Torelli often used a form that resembles and may have been modeld on the structure of the A section of a da capo aria. The first of these salsa sections is called the body of the song while the second section is called the montuno, as it is in the son. However, the harmonic progression, I-V-I, might suggest a binary form, which together with the theme scheme falls into an exposition-recapitulation form.

Overall it's a well-composed, moody instrumental that takes the listener through several different musical textures and emotions with ease. A sonata-imbued design is often built into the form by recapitulating the first phrase in the second (xyx, etc.); this makes the second sections nearly twice as long as the first. However, the six leading composers of the age were undoubtedly Berlioz, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Liszt and Verdi.

For example, a rondo is based on alternation between familiar and novel sections (ABACA); a mazurka is defined by its meter and rhythm; a nocturne is based on the mood it creates, required to be inspired by or evocative of night. Jon Lord probably wanted to present himself as a "serious" composer and arranger in front of the academically trained musicians but he did not succeed.
